Sustainability Initiative
The GLOBE Event Management team has taken a number of steps to
enhance the sustainability performance of GLOBE 2011
including:
Conference materials are printed on FSC certified, 100%
post-consumer recycled paper, processed chlorine free.
GLOBE uses low VOC, vegetable-based inks for printed conference
materials.
Delegate bags were not distributed to reduce resource use and
waste.
Toyota Prius' provided by CNFL offer eco-friendlier event
transportation.
All coffee served is organic and Fair Trade.
Water is served in bulk containers versus individual plastic water
bottles.
Lanyards are made from recycled pop bottles.
Recycling bins are available for name badges and lanyards.
T-shirts for registration staff and volunteers are made with a
blend of bamboo
and organic cotton.
100 percent of the carbon emissions generated by travel and
facility use during the conference will be offset by CDG
Environmental Advisors.
Do Your Part:
- Recycle your cans, glass, plastic and paper in designated
receptacles.
- Throughout the event take only the materials that you really
require.
- Bring your own re-useable mug or water bottle.
- When printing, print double-sided.
- Offset your travel and accommodation-related emissions.
